Nalupurapad Ibrahim Haji, the legendary
landlord of Udumbanthala rejoiced in
hearing his poem recited by others.

Besides, he  handsomely rewarded those
who memorised the entire poem. Several
people of the village made efforts to
memorise the poem.

Puthan Veetil Fathima, a teenager in the
early 1950s, was the first person in the
village to learn the poem by heart.
She could also recite it in a beautiful
style.

Indeed, Fathima was the first to get
the reward (in 1953).
